WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT
NYS has aggressive energy goals for the future, aiming to have 70% of the electricity in the state from renewable energy sources by 2030. These goals will not be possible without the clean energy workforce: that means YOU!
Are you ready to get started?
Clean Energy Internship Program - NYSERDA is helping prepare the next generation of clean energy workers by funding internships for students and recent graduates at New York State’s clean energy companies through the New York State Clean Energy Internship Program. If you are between the age of 16-24, there are local businesses in the area looking for interns just like you.
On the Job Training Program - Looking for more than an internship? This program can help get your foot in the door for a full time opportunity at a clean energy business. Hired individuals through this program will work to design, manufacture, specify, sell/distribute, install, operate, maintain, repair, audit, inspect, and train people on eligible energy efficiency and clean energy technologies and systems. Workers hired through the OJT Program must be hired to perform one or more of these activities and primarily work in one of the eligible energy efficiency and clean technology areas.
Climate Justice Fellowship - If you have recently attended a technical training school (BOCES), or participated in AmeriCorps, Youth Build, or the Conservation Corps, or otherwise fall in the category of a priority population, you are eligible for a 1 year, full time Fellowship opportunity at a participating business or college/university. Fellows are paid $37,000 for the one year fellowship, and will work on climate justice and advancing clean energy projects and technologies.
